ORDINANCE XVI OF 1979

CENTRAL EXCISES AND SALT (AMENDMENT) ORDINANCE, 1979

An Ordinance further to amend the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944

No. F. 17 (1)/79‑Pub.‑The following Ordinance made by the President is hereby published for general information:-

Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944) for the purpose hereinafter appearing ;

And whereas the President is satisfied that circumstances exist which render it necessary to take immediate action ;

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the Proclamation of the fifth day of July 1977, read with the Laws (Continuance in Force) Order, 1977 (C. M. L. A. Order No. 1 of 1977), and in exercise of all powers enabling him in that behalf, the President is pleased to make and promulgate the following Ordinance

1. Short title and commencement.‑ (1) This Ordinance may be called the Central Excises and Salt (Amendment) Ordinance,, 1979.

(2) It shall come into force at once.

2. Amendment of First Schedule, Act 1 of 1944. ‑‑In the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (I of 1944), in the First Schedule, in Part I, for item No. 6 in column (1) and the entries relating thereto in columns (2) and (3) the following shall be substituted, namely:-

6. Beverages‑
