An Ordinance further to amend the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898

No. F. 17(1)/82-Pub.-The following Ordinance made by the Present is hereby published for general information :-
Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 (Act V of 1898), for the purpose hereinafter appearing ;
And whereas the President is satisfied that circumstances exist which render it necessary to take immediate action ;
Now, therefore, in pursuance of the Proclamation of the fifth day of July, 1977 and in exercise of all powers enabling him in that behalf, the President is pleased to make and promulgate the following Ordinance :-
1. Short title and commencement.-(1) This Ordinance may be called the Code of Criminal Procedure (Amendment) Ordinance, 1982.
(2) It shall come into force at once.
2. Amendment of section 32, Act V of 1898.- In the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 (,Act V of 1898), in section 32, in subsection (1), for the words "five thousand" the words "fifteen thousand", for the words "one thousand" the words "five thousand" and for the word "fifty" the words "one thousand" shall respectively be substituted.
