DERA GHAZI KHAN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (REPEAL) ORDINANCE, 2017

An Ordinance to repeal the Dera Ghazi Khan Development Authority Act, 1991

No. Legis: 13-18/2016, dated 21.6.2017. --- The following Ordinance promulgated by Governor of the Punjab is hereby published for general information:

It is necessary to repeal the Dera Ghazi Khan Development Authority Act, 1991 (VI of 1991) so that Dera Ghazi Khan Development Authority may be constituted under the provisions of the Development of Cities Act, 1976 comparable with the Authorities constituted in many other cities of the Punjab inter alia for orderly and planned growth of the city of D.G. Khan.

Provincial Assembly of the Punjab is not in session and Governor of the Punjab is satisfied that circumstances exist which render it necessary to take immediate action.

In exercise of the powers conferred under clause (1) of Article 128 of Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Governor of the Punjab is pleased to make and promulgate the following Ordinance:

1. Short title extent and commencement. ---This Ordinance may be cited as the Dera Ghazi Khan Development Authority (Repeal) Ordinance, 2017.

(2) It shall come into force at once.

2. Repeal of the Dera Ghazi Khan Development Authority Act, 1991. ---The Dera Ghazi Khan Development Authority Act, 1991 (VI of 1991) is hereby repealed.

3. Savings. ---Notwithstanding repeal of the Dere Ghazi Khan Development Authority Act, 1991 (VI of 1991), any rules, regulations or appointments made, orders passed, notifications issued, contracts entered into, proceedings commenced, rights acquired, liabilities incurred, penalties, rates, fees or charges levied, things done or action taken under any provisions of the repealed Act shall continue to have effect unless repealed, recalled, withdrawn or cancelled.
