THE DIPLOMATIC AND CONSULAR OFFICERS (OATHS AND FEES) (AMENDMENT) ORDINANCE, 1960

ORDINANCE No. XII of 1960

[13^th^ April, 1960]

An Ordinance further to amend the Diplomatic and Consular Officers (Oaths and Fees) Act, 1948

WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the Diplomatic and Consular Officers (Oaths and Fees) Act, 1948, for the pur poses hereinafter appearing, XXI of 1948 ;

Now, THEREFORE, in pursuance of the Proclamation of the seventh day of October, 1958, and in exercise of all power enabling him in that behalf, the President is pleased to make and promulgate the following Ordinance :--

1. Short title.--This Ordinance may be called the Diplomatic and Consular Officers (Oaths and Fees) (Amendment) Ordinance, 1960.

2. [Amendment of Section 2, Act XXI of 1948. Amend ment of Section 3, Act XXI of 1948.]---Omitted by the Repealing and Amending Ordinance, 1961 (1 of 1961), s. 2 and 1st Sch.

3. [Amendment of Section 2, Act XXI of 1948. Amend ment of Section 3, Act XXI of 1948.]---Omitted by the Repealing and Amending Ordinance, 1961 (1 of 1961), s. 2 and 1st Sch.

4. Savings.---Notwithstanding anything in any law for the time being in force, any oath or affirmation administered, affidavit taken, or such notarial act done as is referred to in sub-section (1) of section 3 of the said Act, before the promulgation of this Ordinance, by a diplomatic or consular officer of Pakistan or of a foreign country in purported exercise of the powers confer red on him by the said Act shall be deemed to have been ad ministered, taken or done under the said Act as amended by this Ordinance, and shall have and shall be deemed always to have had effect accordingly.
